Under the High Wheel

We recently went to Edmonton for Steve’s mom’s convocation and we had so much fun. Lots of drinks all weekend, so naturally before we headed back home we had to stop for some breakfast.

Steve did some investigating and Under the High Wheel was voted runner up for 2014’s Best Brunch in Edmonton by Avenue Magazine. It was on the way back to Calgary from our hotel, so we thought we’d check it out.

It was a really quaint restaurant, the kind that doesn’t have matching cutlery. Everything is fresh and basically made to order since our waitress told us that its a 45 minute wait for the food. We were ok with it, we’re always ok with it… you gotta wait for good food.

I’ll likely have a couple posts on this place, there is a few things that are worth noting for its very own post. So today I’ll start with my meal, it was a savoury waffle that came with bacon, poached eggs, hollandaise, with a nice salad on the side. It was basically a eggs benedict on a waffle. That’s right a waffle! SOOO brilliant and damn tasty.
